Who is not annoyed (in their everyday work) by processes characterized by manual filling out of complex Excel or Word documents, email ping-pong and searching for information that is somewhere on the group drive? Instead of using time creatively to develop solutions for the customer, time is wasted on file searches, copy & paste, and calling after the fact.

Today, this can be a thing of the past! Together with our customer, the Crespel & Deiters Group, we have shown in an innovation-driven project how it can be done better!

Efficient, digital product development process

We have digitally designed the product development process and transformed it from the inside out. Around the M365 tool "Powerapps", we have holistically redesigned the processes from the submission of a new product idea to the central development in the lab to the go-to-market phase, automated them wherever possible and mapped them completely digitally! This way, we have achieved enormous time savings by eliminating manual process steps and enabled agile and dynamic collaboration across departments.  

In addition to simplifying processes, we create the possibility of strategic control of the various projects by preparing the data. Information that previously had to be gathered across various documents can be displayed in interactive dashboards with just a few clicks. 

The fully integrated solution was realized with the following tools of the M365 platform: 

Via an input mask ( PowerApp 1 ), each employee can submit a product idea. After approval via interactive team message ( Adaptive Card 2 ) by the supervisor, a team is automatically created. With dynamic, predefined tasks, a Planner 3 and team channels that map all relevant process steps are created. 

All data storage is centralized and transparent in SharePoint Online 4 . Technically, these elements were linked via Power Automate 5 and the Microsoft Graph 6 . In addition, a seamless connection with other systems, such as CRM, is possible. All existing data can be retrieved at any time and can thus be further used, linked and processed.   

But the project does not end with the process implementation to date: ideas and suggestions for improvement can be submitted via simple feedback options that have been integrated at almost every point in the process. These are discussed and implemented together with the employees.  

With this element of continuous improvement, digital transformation endures and leads to long-term success for the company.
